Dr. Abigail Rebeske is a distinguished social worker, educator, counselor, and advocate; with a profound dedication to fostering trauma-informed care within schools and communities. Holding certifications as both a School Counselor and School Social Worker, Dr. Rebeske's expertise lies in supporting children, youth, and families facing adversity. With a Master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University (GCU), her doctoral research centered on Equity in Education through the lens of Trauma-Informed Care. Dr. Rebeske firmly believes in equitable access to education for all children and employs positive interventions to ensure their success.​Dr. Rebeske's extensive professional background spans across roles within schools and law enforcement, where she has focused on cases involving crimes against children. Her commitment to healing and empowerment has earned her recognition, including the Avondale Elementary School District Passion and Commitment Award and the prestigious School Social Worker of the Year in Arizona. As a faculty member at GCU and Arizona State University, Dr. Rebeske shares her wealth of knowledge and experience with future generations of counselors and social workers, embodying her commitment to expanding trauma-informed practices and support networks for individuals and families.

With nearly two decades of dedicated experience, my professional journey has been fueled by a passion for empowering children to thrive and supporting educators in their efforts to provide the best possible care and education. Since 2020, I have served as Social Work Faculty at Grand Canyon University, where I have imparted my knowledge and insights to aspiring educators, equipping them with the tools needed to make a difference. Prior to this, I held roles such as Social Worker/Counselor in the Avondale Elementary School District, where I provided comprehensive therapeutic services and supervised Master's level interns, contributing to the development of trauma-informed practices. As a Police Officer, I acted as a Family Victim Advocate, providing crucial support to victims and families navigating crises. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to empowering children and supporting those who work tirelessly to guide them, and I am committed to continuing this mission in all my endeavors.
